My history with Petz...
My first Petz were catz; Motley (a calico) and Purtoss (a persian). They disappeared in a computer crash, but I still have my first dogz; Cookie (a labrador) and Nibbles (a dalmatian).

I fell in love with Petz in 1998 when my cousin showed me Catz II. It was something I always looked forward to when we visited; I couldn't get enough. I managed to get my hands on a copy myself, and also the Dogz I demo. I discovered the Petz community, but never really got too involved... our dial-up was pretty limiting in those days. I loved both games dearly for several years, until our computer died spectacularly (there was actual smoke, haha), and I lost everything.

I forgot about Petz until 2003, when I stumbled across Catz 5 and Dogz 5 in a bargain bin at the local gaming store. I still remember being amazed at the upgrade from version II to 5 (though I think P4 is the best quality game at this point, haha). I rediscovered the Petz community, and I was re-hooked.

In 2005, I made a point of learning how to hex (Loxie's work was the main thing that inspired me to learn), and in 2006, I started thinking about my own website. By November 2007, I'd made enough content that I opened Moonflower at Freewebs.

Since then, I've been an on and off Petz player, usually dropping out of the community when life gets hectic, but I always end up returning. There's something about these little animated pixel pet games, and all the wonderful people who love and mod them, that just keeps bringing me back, you know?
